

The Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) is the professional society committed to advancing the success of treasury and finance members and their organizations. In 2021, Capital One approached this event with a theme in mind for their exhibit: Back in the Game. The goal was to not only produce a space that reflects this theme, but to retain elements from their 2019 exhibit, such as their water station, all of which had to be done in a way that limits contact in a post-COVID world.
A somewhat minimalistic approach was taken to the structure to allow room for spectacle without compromising its theme. Three signs of varying size hang overhead like a stadium scoreboard. Custom vinyl and wooden flooring are laid down to create the feeling of one end of a basketball court. Atop this vinyl sits a basketball arcade machine, modified with Capital One branding. Lastly, the water station serves to elevate the theme, with Gatorade flavor mixers and sports bottles. The exhibit allowed for a thrilling and energetic environment, while still maintaining a strong sense of professionalism and welcoming nature for interested attendees.
